🚗 Leave Early. Drive With Purpose.
No scenic stops. Bathroom breaks and drive-throughs only — anything you can eat in the car. Charlevoix is the first real stop. Site 51 does not wait.

🏕️ Fisherman's Island State Park — Site 51, South Camp
Hard deadline — site forfeits if we're not here by 3pm. Get the tents up, gear sorted, fire laid. Five miles of Lake Michigan shoreline. Some sites sit right in the dunes. Stars are ridiculous out here. Then we go get food.

🛒 Charlevoix Run — Sliders First, Then Supplies
Fresh Coast Sliders first — Double Coastie Classic, Hot Chicken, the Cowboy, get a stack. Then Family Fare for camp food, breakfast supplies, firewood, ice, and beverages. Ice goes in last so it stays cold. Don't forget the ice.

🔥 Camp is Set Up. Stars Are Out.
Fire going, sliders in hand, Lake Michigan out there doing its thing. Pull up a chair. Crack something or don't. Cards if anyone's feeling it. No agenda, no obligations, no pressure. Just the crew and the fire.

Polar Bear. Beaver Island. Uncle Joey's Wild Card.

🐻❄️ Polar Bear Rise & Shine
Into the lake. Lake Michigan in late June. Cold enough to remind you you're alive. Also worth noting — there are no showers at Fisherman's Island. The polar bear is the shower. First one in sets the tone for the whole day. This is the tradition.
MORNING
🍳 Camp Breakfast
Fuel up before the ferry. Whatever's in the cooler. Coffee on the fire. No agenda. Just eat and get ready to roll.
DAY
⛴️ Ferry to Beaver Island — Beaver Island Boat Co
Ferry from Charlevoix — no passenger reservations needed, bikes welcome. Check in 1 hour early. Two hours across Lake Michigan. Ride the island — 13 miles long, almost zero traffic, deer everywhere. Grab lunch at Dalwhinnie Bakery & Deli, then bring it next door to Whiskey Point Brewing on the harbor — the most remote brewery in Michigan. Harbor views, craft beer, pretzels. This is the reason you took Friday off.
NIGHT
🍽️ Uncle Joey's Wild Card
Nobody knows what's coming until it's coming off the fire. Last known intel suggested sticky ribs and mac & cheese — but Uncle Joey reserves the right to change his mind in the moment, and whatever he makes will be fire. Any dietary restrictions in the group will be accommodated. Respect the wild card. Pull up a chair.

Day two. Back in the lake. Yes again. It's colder the second morning and there are still no showers. That's the tradition. Do it anyway.
MORNING
🍳 Breakfast at Camp — In a Pan
Last meal at camp. Everything left in the cooler goes in the pan. Eggs, whatever's left, cooked over the fire. Last cup of camp coffee. Everyone stands around the cold fire pit a minute longer than they need to. Then pack it up. Leave the site cleaner than you found it — that's the code.

🍜 The Avenue — 2021 E Michigan Ave, Lansing
The landing strip. Opens 6pm Sunday. Ramen, craft beer in mason jars, pinball machines, pool tables, live music. The perfect decompression stop between the woods and real life. Debrief here. Order the pork katsu curry. Then go home smelling like campfire.
